Genealogy Dedicated Room

Come to Egans House and see a SPECIAL ROOM dedicated to genealogy – now you too can trace your family as far back as 1798 – yes over 200 years.

My name is Patrick Finn and I own and operate Egans House. My sister and I have produced a book on our own family from both our father’s and mother’s sides.

It is 540 pages long and stuffed with fascinating informatiom and photos. We can show you the book and numerous extremely detailed framed wall charts going back to the rebellion of 1798.

More importantly we can show you how you can do it yourself by leading you in the right direction from the beginning rather than coming to Ireland and getting frustrated by going to all the wrong places and sources.

Most people think that all the information needed is on the internet  – unfortunately it is not that simple!

We are situated just 10 minutes walk from Glasnevin cemetery where the souls of 1,500,000 rest and within 5 miles of all the major sources of information you will need for your fascinating voyage – was one of your ancestors hanged for murder or was he a bishop? Find out!

Glasnevin Cemetery is only a ten minute walk from Egans House. This is the burial place of Daniel O’ Connell and many other famous Irish people as well as a over a million other souls.

There are tours every day including Sundays and Bank Holidays at 2.30 pm for only €5.
